One small act of love can change a life forever.

Our Purpose

Many years ago a young child's life changed through one act of kindness shown by Christian missionaries visiting her remote village. She purposed to pay it forward and do the same for her village and surrounding communities in years to come.

In the spirit of expressing Christ's love and compassion for the poor and needy as expressed in Matthew 25:35 (For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink...), we endeavor to bring hope and joy through simple acts of kindness.

Our reocurring events

Our mission coordinates, funds, and hosts two events in Nkoranza and Kumasi in Ghana each year. To ensure their success, we invite you to support us with donations and funding leading up to each occasion.

Love in Action Event   (LATE NOV / EARLY DEC)

Full-day events in Nkoranza and Kumasi focus on children – the heart and soul and Joy of the Lord Missions.
We work to bring a little joy to each child by providing the following:

  • A nourishing meal

  • A small donated gift (e.g. candy, toys, gently used clothes, books etc.)

  • A fun-filled day with games, activities, and an encouraging word with a message of hope and joy.

In our 2024 event, Joy Missions was able to feed over 5000 children!

Even More Intiatives   (ONGOING)

From time to time, we encounter people who have additional needs (like Jacqueline and Esther featured below). A general donation to Joy of the Lord Missions is put towards these activities.

  • Contact us directly to find out more details on current special initiatives we are supporting

  • If you'd like to donate items that we could send abroad please contact us.

  • You can also make a general monetary donation to help support our special projects as various needs arise.

In 2024 we were able to deliver a donated ultrasound machine to a local area hospital.

FEATURE STORY

Meet Jacqueline
and Esther

In November 2024 while visiting Nkoranza we met Jaqueline and Esther. When Jacqueline was a vibrant 7-year-old, she returned from school one day feeling unwell. That night, her mother Esther noticed her daughter's arm shaking uncontrollably. From that moment on, Jacqueline's life changed dramatically – she gradually lost her ability to walk and speak.

Seven years have passed, and Jacqueline (now 14) relies entirely on her mother for mobility. Esther carries her daughter everywhere, with occasional help from her own mother. The weight of their situation was heavy, not just physically but emotionally. As if that wasn't difficult enough, the societal stigma surrounding Jacqueline's condition made it difficult for Esther to earn a living adding an additional burden to their dire situation.

Their story touched our hearts. Moved by the family's plight, we were able to offer a monetary donation to support Jacqueline and Esther. More importantly, we shared words of encouragement and prayer and Esther made a life-changing decision to embrace faith and accepted Jesus into her heart and life.

During our visit to Ghana wheelchairs that were donated from Canada started to arrive. We were able to make special arrangements to deliver one directly to Jacqueline and Esther.

This is one example of a notable impact we can all make through small acts of kindness!
